A day in the life of an HMUA: Alexia the risk-taker

As mentioned earlier, I did make-up for 2 French women, Maelle and Alexia. They are the owners of Foxysales, www.foxysales.com a leading flash sales website dedicated to moms, babies and kids in South East.

For Alexia, I took the lead and I asked her if she's keen to wear red lips. She told me "Let's just do it!" I was happy. I was thinking of giving her a simple look, but definitely, the red lips will stand out.

For her eyes, I gave her very light shade of eye shadow and just did a winged-tip eye using liquid eye-liner. Now this was very new to me. Something I only did to myself once. When applying to another person, it was extremely tricky! I actually belief that I mess it up a bit. But since Alexia has deep-set eyes, the wing-tip on her eyelid just hid and concealed itself.

When I applied the red lipstick, her daughter, who was beside us, made a remark! Alexia laughed and told me all about her daughter's reaction. Clearly, the little kid was not used to seeing her mom putting on strong colours on her face. It made me nervous but I was actually pleased once I was done with her.
 Here is the look.

Wingtip slightly showing here. :)

Seeing before and after photos of Maelle and Alexia made me feel so happy. Their faces lit up and they seemed healthier and livelier.

I hope you guys find inspirations on the looks I did. I know my blog doesn't really tell you step by step on how to achieve the look. I plan to have those type of blog soon though..if I can think of ways to go around it. Through videos perhaps but I am not confident yet.. Hahahaha..

But for now, I'd like to thank you for spending some time to read and take a look at these make-up looks. Love you guys. :D

A day in the life of an HMUA: Photo shoot invite! Maelle, natural look, no make-up, make up!

So I was invited to do hair and make-up for 2 beautiful French women last Saturday, 15th February. Jasmine, whom I've worked last time approached me and invited me to tie-up with her so both of us can develop our own portfolios. I was very delighted so I agreed.

Jasmine is a photographer and she's doing a project where she looks for real women who is career oriented but still are so devoted with their family/social life. She'd do an interview and photo shoot and feature them on her website.

The first project is with 2 French women, Maelle and Alexia. They are the owners of Foxysales, www.foxysales.com a leading flash sales website dedicated to moms, babies and kids in South East Asia! Moms/Mums, please do check their website. :D

First, I'd like to share my experience with Maelle. She doesn't wear make-up regularly and she asked me to do a more natural look for the shoot. I obliged and did soft smokey eyes just to define them and opted for nude lips. Here is the look.

I was only able to take few pictures as I needed to do another make-up for Alexia. I'll be posting her look in a separate blog post.

Definitely, there were hits and misses on her make-up but I hope you guys like the look I have created. I should really tell myself to not be afraid building up the make up and play with colours as light could only wash them off very easily during a photo shoot. However, I was extremely happy with the experience.

Please do check out my post for Alexia as well. Thanks for reading! :D
