My Personal Goal for this Year. SKIN SKIN SKIN! :D

Usually, we make our goals at the start of the year, the cliché, New Year Resolution... I do mine differently. I make my personal goal on my birthday.

Last year, my goal was to lose weight and somehow flatten my tummy. I was really working hard and having a strict diet. All those sacrifices paid off as I am at a better condition right now. Although my tummy has not achieved its full potential, I am so happy of what I have accomplished so far.

I was not really fat but my body is really weird. I have slim limbs but my tummy has always been bulgy. I have been mistaken as "pregnant" ever since the world began..Kidding!!! But yeah, when people assumed that I am bearing a child, it really hurts a lot!

As much as I tried to hide it, my bulgy tummy is forever noticeable. Then, when I watched American Idol and saw Jennifer Lopez, something struck me. How can this woman looks so damn good when she already had twins and she's over 40 years old! That's too unfair!!!

I became dedicated to my workout and diet. I was like a beast last year. I started to really focus on my goals (lose weight and body toning) after my birthday party and it intensified over time. Now, I am really happy with the way I look.

This year, I have a new set of personal goals and it's aligned to my upcoming wedding! Yay!!! Since I got recently engaged to my boyfriend of 6 years, now fiancĂ©, my goals changed. First goal is to maintain my figure until my wedding. Of course, I would like to look good on my wedding. Second is all about skin, skin, skin!

I do have a lot of facial breakouts and blemishes and I would like to have them vanished! I did the first step and that is getting a good facial skin care system.

I decided to get Clinique's Skin Care system that consists of 3 main products, their facial wash, toner and moisturizer. I got these 3 products because they were highly recommended by my friend, Beverly. Yeah, I should've consulted a skin doctor but I will be doing that when I come home to the Philippines. So far, I am happy with this system. I noticed that my blemishes are drying out within one week of using it.

I also purchased this gentle exfoliator scrub from Sephora. It says that it gently sweeps off dead skin. I decided to get this so that I am touching my face with my fingers less.

That's also one bad habit I am trying to break. I am so fond of pinching my blemishes like white heads, black heads, zits and what not to pinch using my fingers, washed and unwashed. Very, very bad!

Lastly, I purchased this Palmer's Shea Butter Formula for my body moisturizer. I noticed that my skin on my entire body is dry. I hope that this butter lotion can help hydrate my skin.

I have tons of plans for my skin this year and I really intend to expel all the blemishes. I am really focussing on facial skin because its the one being exposed all the time and people look at you and talk to you and they would love to see glowing and bright face. I want to have a clear, smooth and healthy looking skin for my wedding and my plan is to really find more products that could help me achieve it. Of course, proper diet and exercise will still be done and I think having a good habit of sleeping early and always touching my face with clean hands should be observed. I know I can accomplish this goal just as I succeeded from the last one.

I promise to update you with my goals for the year and occasionally post photos about my progress. I hope you guys get to be inspired in making your personal goals and really work hard to reach it.

If you guys have suggestion on skin care, please share your best practices with me and I will definitely try it out myself. Thanks for reading guys! :D

A day in the life of an HMUA: Wedding look, elegant look! Last minute booking! I AM A MAKE-UP ARTIST! :D weeeeeeeeee!!!!

This is a short blog about a last minute booking that happened this afternoon of 19 October 2013. It all started when one of my former colleagues, Irene, contacted me about someone who wanted to meet me and possibly work with me.

To cut the story short, a group of girl power photographers asked me to do a make-up for a boudoir photo shoot. These girls are starting to build up their portfolio on photography and so they'd like me to try and collaborate with them.

I didn't think twice of course. I mean, make-up is my passion!..(although I'm not doing much to myself! Lol!!)

I hope you guys like the make-over I did to our beautiful model, Catherine..

Before look
Catherine basically has a very good skin. It's very clear and her skin tone is very fair. This is actually my first time to do make-up to a Caucasian. There were nerves there freaking out definitely! :D

After look

I am so happy that Catherine liked what I did for her hair and eyes! :D

I am so happy that I was able to take some photos myself! This is of course for my blog purposes!

Lessons learned on this make-up session: 1. I should probably buy a concealer 2. I should practice more on doing hairstyles 3. Practice more on applying mascara :p

Jasmine, Mary Violet, Doli and Catherine

Thank you girls for giving me a chance to participate on this project! I had so much fun! Good luck on your portfolio and I will look forward on your Facebook page soon! Girls, you better think of some name for your group though.. :p

Please comment below whether you like the look or not. If you have suggestions, please write and I will appreciate it very much.

If you are interested to have a make-over or if you have a friend or someone you know who may need a make-up artist, you can recommend me if you like. :)) You can email me at herlene_cuasay@yahoo.com I am always checking my emails. :D

Thanks for reading! :D

Once Upon A Weekend! My tambay sa bahay look. Not my usual homebound look and get-up

This is a short blog about my not so usual stay-home weekend. Usually, I look like an old auntie when I stay at home. There's nothing to do anyway so why bother to dress-up and look good. But this particular weekend inspired me to do a weekend stay-home look a notch higher than what it used to.

This look can be used when you are out running errands to a nearby shop or if you are to eat outside during lunch or dinner time.

All you need is a white tee, high-waist shorts or any regular shorts, belt, pair of sandals and accessories.

This is the look. I really think that my footwear makes this outfit. It makes the simple ensemble extraordinary. Love my sandals from Billini. Oh, I wore sunnies too since it was too hot and too bright outside.

As you may have noticed, my tee was no longer tucked-in.. I realized the look was too polished that people are giving me weird looks. Lol!

When it's loose, I also went loose.

Started to have fun.. Too much fun perhaps! :D

I hope you feel inspired to look good on a stay-home weekend too. I know I did!

Photos were taken in our neighbourhood. Please leave a comment if you like the look, or not.. What are other suggestions you might have. Looks that you would like me to do. Challenge me so I can be better. Thanks for reading friends! :D
